Steve has worked in the commercial roofing industry for over 33 years. He has worked for two of the largest manufacturers in the United States in the role of regional business manager. He also spent over 16 years with one of the leading roofing distributors in the US, based in Kansas City with his last role as vice president of commercial sales.
Steve is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a BS in marketing. He has a passion for golf and competed at the collegiate level.
Steve is the proud father of three sons with his youngest currently a senior at the University of Kansas.
Steve currently resides Libertyville.
Ryan started working in the field of Division 7 products when he was at 16, working summers installing roofing. After college he began his career as a sales rep for roofing manufacturer and quickly gravitated to working with not only roofing but waterproofing and wall systems. He has held positions with a major manufactures as Regional Manager, National Sales Manager, and Business Development Manager.
Ryan was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. He holds a BS from the University of Iowa. He is a member of CRCA and currently serves on the board of the Chicago chapter of IIBEC. In the past has been involved in SWRI, ABAA, GRHC, and USGBC. He enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 kids, and is an avid Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks fan.
Kim began her career in the roofing industy in distribution, starting in 1995. During her 18 years there, she served as Office, Inventory and Purchasing Manager. She has been with SJ Mallein since 2014 as a Customer Service Specialist and Office Manager.
She has been involved with Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) for 18 years, both with distribution and in her current position. Kim serves as an Associate Member on the CRCA Board and also serves on CRCA’s Membership Committee. She is also actively involved in the CRCA’s Chicagoland Women in Roofing (CWIR) committee.
Kim graduated with her BS degree in Operations Management from Northern Illinois University and currently resides in Gilberts.
Michelle joined SJ Mallein in March, 2018. She began her career in the construction industry last year on the distribution side.
Michelle graduated from North Central College with a BA in Marketing and has worked for some of the nation’s top residential property management firms. She has received numerous awards and accolades for her sales and customer service achievements. She looks forward to utilizing her past experience in customer service and sales to meet and exceed expectations in account management.
Michelle is newly married and has a deep love for music. She is an avid concert goer, and enjoys attending live concerts with her husband whenever they get the chance. Michelle and her husband currently make their home in Aurora with their new son, Silas.
Dave joined SJ Mallein upon its inception in July of 2014, handling outside sales and key account management. Dave plays an active role in the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA), serving on the marketing committee as a co-chair and as a member of the trade show committee.
He has worked on both the contractor and manufacturing side of the business, with 30 years of experience in the roofing industry.
Dave is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Toledo, Ohio and attained his BS in Marketing and Sales.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Dave remains a big Cleveland Indians fan. He also enjoys golf and travel.
Angelo joined SJ Mallein in January of 2017, bringing with him twenty-six years of experience in the roofing industry. He began his roofing career in 1986 with a tapered insulation manufacturer located in Southern Illinois. In 1992 he started A.J. & Associates, an independent representation firm focused on the sale of tapered systems in the northern Illinois market; Angelo subsequently began representing other manufacturers’ products, enabling him to gain a better understanding of not just the tapered insulation component of a roofing system but the entire roofing system.
Angelo studied architecture at Murray State University and currently resides in Sandwich with his wife and three children.
Dan joined the SJ Mallein team in Septermber of 2019. His career in building envelopes goes all the way to 1991 as a Local 11 union roofer here in Chicago.
Dan brings a well-rounded experience to his new position, having worked as a contractor, a building envelope manufacturer’s representative, and for a number of other manufacturers in the roofing, walls, and waterproofing industries in an outside sales and technical capacity. He is an active member of the Madison and Milwaukee Chapters of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).
Dan enjoys golf and fishing and is an avid reader. He currently resides in Wisconsin with his two boys. Fun fact: Dan has a twin brother; he claims to be the more attactive of the two.
Paul joined SJ Mallein in September of 2017 after 19 years with a roofing manufacturer, where he served a variety of roles, including field technical support, sales, marketing, and education.
He is an active member of the Chicago Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and has served on the board in various capacities since 2019.
Paul graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a degree in General Studies with areas of concentration in architecture, behavioral science, and history.
Paul is an avid runner and is slowly returning to form after hip surgery sidelined him in 2021. Born in New Orleans, he’s a life-long fan of the Saints. He currently resides in Bolingbrook with his wife and two daughters.
Operating under the assumption that two Malleins are better than one, Jake Mallein joined SJ Mallein in February 2022, having recently graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in marketing. Jake also interned with us for a year starting back in June of 2020.
Jake is a member of the Chicago Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). He was born and raised in Kansas City and recently relocated to the Chicago area; he currently resides in Libertyville. Jake is an avid golfer with a +12 handicap. His ultimate goal is to one day play a round at Augusta National.
